Kaha & Kondé | Birds of Ceylon
Meet "Kaha & 'Kondé" two common visitors in the home gardens of Ceylon.
curious why I drew these two?
When I was very young, my mom used to love the 'Kaha Kurulla' (Black-hooded-Oriole) bird and we would often get excited to find one in the midst of the trees at home. I now consider it my own lucky charm to see one! And then the story of the other.. A baby Konda-Kurulla (Red-vented Bulbul/ Konda Kurulla) had got injured and was in our garden hiding, I remember telling my mom that it had a 'Boo boo' on its butt. He didn't live for long sadly, but the story of the boo-boo did! (Hint? it has red feathers near its tail!)
